                               T. R. Silambarasan is a prominent Tamil film actor, director, playback singer and songwriter. He is also known as Little Super Star among his fans. Simbhu began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist, produced by his father T. Rajendar. He made his debut under his father's direction in 2002 and has since acted in several films in lead roles. He has also directed one film, Vallavan.


                                      Silambarasan acted on Tamil nearly 19 films as a child artist in his father T. Rajendar's films. A few of them are Thai Thangai Paasam, Oru Vasantha Geetham, En Thangai Kalyani, Enga Veetu Velan, Monisha En Monalisa, Oru Thayin Sabhatham, Samsara Sangeetham, Shanti Enathu Shanti, Pettredutha Pillai, and Sabash Babu. His debut in movies as a hero came in the form of Kadhal Azhivathillai, a Tamil language movie.
                                      After his second film Dum, Kuthu[2] was released. It was his first movie which was a hit and that gave him an entry into the Kollywood film industry, which also ran for 100 days.Followed by Alai and Kovil, Silambarasan then took a year break from acting to concentrated on the filming of Manmadhan, for which he also wrote the screenplay. He has done his first dual role in this movie. Manmadhan was the most talked about movie and one of the best thrillers in Indian cinema.


                                         Simbhu has worked on story line, screen play and dialogues for the movie Manmadhan. The other cast of this movie are Jyothika Saravanan as the heroine, Mandira Bedi and Yana Gupta as item numbers. The movie Manmadhan is about a serial killer of women. The music of this movie was scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Simbhu played a dual role in this film. The movie became the biggest hit of Simbhu's career and ran for 275 days. His next film, Thotti Jaya [3]did not meet up with the expectations at the box-office. For Thotti Jaya he sported a black beard in the role of an orphaned gangster who finds love.
                                         In 2006, Saravana was released. After Manmadhan, he paired up with Jyothika Saravanan to act in the film directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film turn out to be an average hit. Silambarasan decided to turn director in Vallavan[4]. It was released on Diwali 2006 and starred him opposite Nayantara, Reema Sen and Sandhya. His film Kaalai was released in January 2008 which did not fair well at the box office. Then his next movie, Silambattam was released in December 2008 which ran over 215 days. After waiting for one year, the actor is happy to lay his hands on a brand new white swanky vehicle, the legendary BMW X6, the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu.
 

Upcoming movies:
                               The shoot for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya is almost completed, which will be released on Pongal 2010. Silambarasan will start shooting Valiban on 4th December 2009. After that he will start projects with Boopathy Pandian and Lingusamy. A movie by K. V. Anand and Venkat Prabhu is in discussion. Then he will go on with Manmadhan II and Podaa Podi.
